I would say Iβm sorry that their unoriginal creator decided to make go through a ham handed metaphor about evil and corruption so they could be villain in the next chapter of the story because they have to wield an evil version of a pointy thing they carry around all the time.
We recovered an incredibly evil weapon once – and through laborious efforts and some wild improvisation at the end, sanctified it for Good and used it to take out the evil god destroying our plane. I can’t imagine how wielding it in its evil form could have possibly been helpful.
